Why I Love Colorado!

I’m a Colorado native….born and raised! I’ve called it home for the better part of 49 years, and I must say, there’s something truly special about Colorado—something that keeps those of us who call it home in constant awe, and something that makes visitors fall in love the moment they arrive. Whether it’s the crisp mountain air, the breathtaking scenery, or the warm and welcoming people, Colorado has a way of capturing hearts. As I prepare for my journey to compete for Mrs. Colorado 2025, I find myself reflecting on the things that make this state so incredible.

1. The Fresh Air

The moment you step outside in Colorado, you can feel the difference. The air here is clean, crisp, and refreshing, especially at higher elevations. Whether you’re hiking in the mountains or simply taking a deep breath on a morning walk, there’s a rejuvenating quality to the air that makes you feel alive. It’s no wonder so many people flock here for outdoor adventures and wellness retreats—it’s like nature’s own reset button.

2. The Beautiful Skyline and Snow-Capped Mountain Peaks

One of my favorite sights in Colorado is the way the city skyline meets the Rocky Mountains. Whether you’re in Denver, Boulder, or Colorado Springs, you can always look west and see those majestic peaks standing tall. And when winter rolls in, the snow-capped mountains look like something straight out of a painting. No matter how long I’ve lived here, I never get tired of that view—it’s a daily reminder of nature’s grandeur.

3. The Famous Green Chili

If you’re from Colorado, you know that green chili is more than just food—it’s a way of life. Whether it’s smothered over a burrito, spooned into a bowl, or added to just about anything (seriously, try it on a burger or fries), our green chili has a flavor unlike anywhere else. There’s a reason people from out of state crave it once they’ve had a taste. Spicy, savory, and packed with southwestern flair, it’s one of my absolute favorite things about living here.

4. The Stunning Fall Colors

There’s nothing quite like fall in Colorado. When the aspen trees turn golden and the mountains light up in shades of yellow, orange, and red, it’s pure magic. Whether you’re taking a scenic drive through the Rockies or hiking a trail surrounded by shimmering leaves, the fall season is breathtaking. It’s the kind of beauty that makes you pause, soak it all in, and feel grateful to be here.

5. The People of Colorado

Of all the things I love about this state, the people are at the top of the list. Coloradans are some of the most friendly, adventurous, and welcoming people you’ll ever meet. There’s a shared love for the outdoors, a spirit of community, and a kindness that makes this place feel like home. Whether you’re chatting with a local at a farmers’ market, hiking a trail with strangers who instantly become friends, or bonding over a Broncos game, you can feel the genuine warmth of the people here.

As I continue on my journey to represent this incredible state, I carry with me the things that make Colorado so special. From the fresh mountain air to the vibrant culture and the incredible people, there’s nothing like it. Whether you’re a lifelong resident or just passing through, Colorado has a way of leaving its mark on your heart.

What do you love most about Colorado? Let me know in the comments—I’d love to hear!

Cheers!
